Jaggi's Northern Indian Cuisine
Edit About Us
In 1995, Mr Singh opened a restaurant in Little India’s Kerbau Road, and registered the business as a sole-proprietorship under it’s present name. The stall at Gluttons Corner continued to remain in operation until 2000/2001, maintaining it’s business despite fierce competition from new rivals.
Due to an increased customer base at Kerbau Road, in 1997-98 the company ceased it’s operations at Kerbau Road and shifted to it’s present location at 34/36 Race Course Road, with a larger kitchen that accommodates catering orders up to 400 pax besides it’s daily food supplies to it’s three existing outlets across the Island. The current premises have a seating space accommodating up to 98 people on the ground floor, with a function hall upstairs catering up to 50 guests and accommodation for it’s foreign employees at the top floor, saving them living and travelling costs otherwise. The larger premises also allowed for an expanded menu, with a greater variety of dishes still maintaining it’s authentic north indian origins with a strict emphasis on quality control, hygiene and taste personally inspected by members of the family and long serving staff. The company is also BizSafe (level 3) certified, ensuring our staff are well versed in operating their respective duties safely. Without much marketing and advertising, business grew gradually due to word of mouth, and so did the racial profile of customers. Customers’ racial profile has evolved from 90% Indians when we first started, mostly expats, to a 60:40 percentage ratio, the latter consisting of a lesser percentage of “others” ethnic expatriates with a bigger percentage of Singaporeans at present (observations).
Besides the main restaurant at race course road, the company also operates three outlets open only on weekdays in the CBD belt;
Shenton House (lunch only)
AXA Tower (until 9pm)
